I second that, donkeyschlong. A link to a major news source, about a subject that has constantly been in the news lately, and certainly satisfies the criteria in that a) most people haven't seen it before and b) there is something interesting about the content on the page. Heck, it might warrant discussion from others as well, and certainly this matter hasn't been the topic of enough discussion in these trying times.

Kudos to you, Postroad, and kudos to everyone who is obviously following your sterling example in posting these sorts of topical news threads to the front page of MetaFilter!
