Unbrand America

Because my country has sold its soul to corporate power, Because consumerism has become our national religion, Because we've forgotten the true meaning of freedom, And because patriotism now means agreeing with the president, I pledge to do my duty . . . and take my country back. Unbrand America!

SCoyote, what is exactly the problem you have with the post, or with MF. You don't like the Kyoto Protocol for the environment, I guess; you also, probably don't want an International Criminal Court for greater justice; and you obviously don't think much of a world where all nations, including the U.S.A., are free of weapons of mass destruction.
But, please, stop my guessing. Try to formulate an argument.

Eirixon, I did. And I admit, I'm desperate to see something happening that will change the course of events as they've been unfolding the past couple of years. Now you're saying you've seen the movie before, so let's stop talking about it. Well, the movie is still playing and, being a romantic, I want to believe that somehow it (we) can reach a happy end. Absurd, hey?

Excellent point. And I think we should post this link every day until consumerism vanishes from the planet. I personally vow to stop buying stuff and only eat things I personally collect from the empty lot out back.

Since I will no longer be supporting the greedy thugs who run the power company or the ISPs, I will be joining acrobat in not paying these bills. Of course this means that neither of us will ever post here again, but I think that's a small price to pay.

Wish me luck and I'll be praying for the rest of you who are still enslaved by your need to live above a subsistence level.
