A note to our conservative friends. A devastating reflection in the wake of Katrina.

This post was deleted for the following reason: crazy op-eds on blogs are about as useful as the ones in the newspaper

Well, motherfuckers, and that means you, fat ass Goldberg and your master, Rich Lowry, PNAC Bitch Beinart, the racist wannabe white Malkin and the little fucktards at LGF, Bareback Andy and "Diversity" Instacracker, all you backstabbing, fag hating uncle tom ministers, you can see Dear Leader in action.

Yes, I'm sure this will be quite effective. *snort*

props for the Being There reference, I guess...

That is really inappropriate.

Yeah, the Chauncy Gardiner reference was the height of that piece's cleverness, followed closely by describing the "niggers" of New Orleans as alligator MRE's.

Goes without saying, but... this is a bad post.

I hate George W Bush as much as any American should, but I can't believe this piece of shit screed is linked on Metafilter. Flagging.

I can see the whole "working through the anger" bit, but would this guy have been a 'zine-kid in the '80s, or would this sort of bitterness just eaten through his stomach lining?

Lots of things are inappropriate--you'd think the Bush administration's constant harping on 9/11 would be inappropriate, but lots of people would disagree. This is hardly worse--just more explicit. Besides, didn't we link Fuck the South here a while ago? Maybe not? ok...

This is wretched.

What?! Only one link? How is this FPP material? On top of it all the content is deeply offensive to myself and the rest of MeFi. Why, I was so outraged that my monocle slipped out and fell into my earl grey. Outlandish!

People are hurting, people are very angry, and many, many people are saying the wrong things right things. That doesn't mean we should link to them. This is ghoulish, and also a very bad post.

I'm going to try that first sentence again.

People are hurting, people are very angry, and many, many people are saying the wrong things right *now*. That doesn't mean we should link to them. This is ghoulish, and also a very bad post.

Good thing no one is taking advantage of all these people dying to promote political agendas.

As monju says, this will certainly persuade a lot of people to change their minds, being so well-written and rational and all.

This linked content is offensive, and the essay isn't effective. One of the worst posts this weekend.

the RudePundit is as angry as this guy, but way more effective

How wonderfully un-eloquant.
How can there be any reasoned debate when all sides scream "asshole"?

I'm not sure in which thread, but this has been linked to before in a comment somewhere.

BackwardsCity, I read your first post as intending to mean "People are saying the right things the wrong way", which actually kind of makes sense too.

And this bit of ranting, much as I share its sentiments, should be gone from the front page, and quickly. It's not helping.

Crap post, IMO.

In an attempt to make this thread about something instead of just how stupid it is, how about posting favorite flaming, pointless screeds?

It appears we have a new artform. At least, that's the most charitable interpretation I can come up with. Maybe, if I align my tinfoil hat just right, I could frame such regurgitative cant as an attempt by undercover agents of conservative parties to discredit their opposition as a whole by painting it as a group of guttermouthed simps.

I think I'll stick with the artform interpretation.

"Arrogance is the fucking cornerstone of what it means to be American."

I thought it was, like, liberty n' freedom n' stuff.

But judging from a google search, America has a veritable assload of corners with support stones.

(just bored and waiting for deletion)

What, still not deleted yet? Kewl, let me just slide in here and say the linked piece is highly typical of--no, make that expletive for expletive identical to--all other "devastating" critiques of conservatism one reads these days.
