An exhibit of Depression era color Photos from the Library of Congress

From the Library of Congress - "Bound for Glory: America in Color" is the first major exhibition of the little known color images taken by photographers of the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information. Comprised of seventy digital prints made from color transparencies taken between 1939 and 1943, this exhibition reveals a surprisingly vibrant world that has typically been viewed only through black-and-white images. The Depression came alive for me with this exhibition. This content has been linked to before as part of a larger collection, but the Bound for Glory Exhibition is quite new and highlights the color images from the collection. The online exhibition is captivating, the people in the pictures are compelling. Via.

At a time when computer monitors are getting bigger and bigger, it seems the Average MeFi poster must be using web-enabled wristwatches without scrollbars.

When I see a subject with Glory and America next to each other, I can only think of one thing...

A symbol of Americana immortalized in his glory.
