Newsvine. It's like MetaFilter, only without the filter. OK, actually it's more exactly like NewsFilter. Nifty interface, though.

This post was deleted for the following reason: still beta, invite only

I must be missing something here...is this a 'invite only' news club?

Maybe this link will work better.

Or maybe you get the same signin page.

yea, bummer it got posted while invite only. not too good of a FPP because of it unfortunately. however, i really think it's pretty amazing. i've only been using it since my invite 2 days ago but i'm very impressed.

all the news from the associated press + user submitted news links. but the bonus is that commenting is allowed for each story to spur discussion. So it's a cool news community (ie:newsfilter) Also, you can write your own articles and after beta earn income from your own subdomain's (name.newsvine.com) ad revenue.

pretty solid so far I think. we'll see how it continues.

MeTa.

Sorry, sorry, sorry.

This site is worth checking out but as it is still in beta it is not publicly accessible.

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

not too good of a FPP

That's putting it rather mildly.

This site is worth checking out

If only...

See also : reddit, magnolia, blogmarks, digglicious (which is digg+delicious, of course) and even the new b3ta links board (amongst others that slipped my mind already). These kinds of sites are exploding all over the map lately.

Metafilter still gets my vote, though.

odinsdream. the beta is to work out the kinks. they are still in development. albeit they have an extremely strong product already. normally i would agree with you, but, i agree with the beta in this case. i do think that this will be a pretty popular service so it was a good idea to release slowly at first. i don't think they'll be kicking around the bush.

it was just friends now its people who signed up for an invite.

Oh, great. Thanks, now I have two or three more link/news aggregators to obsessively refresh while looking for new stuff.

Some people complain about losing paltry afternoons to this, that or some other site or another, but entire lives are at stake here, man!

so when this site goes alpha, would a post about it then be a double?

You won't be able to search for it so you'd have to remember where it was.
