Sure, there was radioactivity. What?

Wait--there was radioactivity. Huh? Don't blame Artw, it surely isn't his fault. What's going on here? Caution? I thought we were all on the same page.

CNN even screwed up Artw's post--that doesn't seem right...

Except the earlier thread now links to an updated article which says the opposite of the post.

So this is a same-day double?

Sure, if a double-post can say two exactly opposite things.

I don't see a CNN link. And who's Artw?

Don't blame Artw, it surely isn't his fault.

I have it on good authority that Artw is actually part of a vast conspiracy to hide the radiation. There are some grainy out of focus photos that strongly suggest that he was setting up atomic scrubbers all along the North Korean border. That they failed is surely do to the fact that he was rushing.

So I say, blame Artw, it's clearly his fault.

Oh yeah. Just correct the other post.

those damn north koreans ... it's bad enough they've got to monkey around with nuclear weapons, but now they've screwed up metafilter

THIS MEANS WAR!!

Apparently it can.

this, boys and girls, is exactly the problem with newsfilter posts.

Oooookay. They say thew blew up an A-bomb, which is a frightening possibility. Governments from around the world weigh in with their trace test results and say "No." Meanwhile, everyone waits for the U.S. analysis, and they finally agree, "No." Then late Friday, as people are leaving for the weekend, they then say "Actually, Yes." Maybe I'm the only one that finds this weird, if not suspicious. If so, my bad.

No, it's not weird. Actually, releasing bad news at the start of the weekend is how the US government does business. Always has, as far as I know. Oh, and also:

dreamsign, I look forward to hearing your harrowing story of how you came out of a coma. :) In the meantime, this is what monju was referencing.

Dude?! Dude.

Crap, now I have to tell about how *I* came out of my coma. And it's SO boring...

Don't worry, Humanzee, Big Trouble in Little China is one of my favorite films and I didn't get the reference until mr_roboto spelled it out. And I've seen that gif a million times. *sigh*

Ok, upon further review, Lo Pan shot blinding light from his eyes and mouth at the same time, whereas tyra banks shoots some weird energy ray, which is completely different. I don't think that is a BTLC reference.

Geez, I can't believe I just spent time on that.

Said the USA to the little world:
Do you see what I see?
'Way up in the sky, little world,
Do you see what I see?
A bomb, a bomb
Dancing in the night,
With a tail as big as a kite.

Said the little world to the UN:
Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing thru the sky, UN,
Do you hear what I hear?
A bomb, a bomb
North above the DMZ,
With a geiger reading as high as GWB in 73.

Said the UN to the Kim Jong-il:
Do you know what I know?
In your palace warm, Kim Jong-il,
Do you know what I know?
A bomb, a bomb
Detonates in a hole,
Let us bring Him shock and awe.

Said the Kim Jong-il to the people ev'rywhere:
Listen to what I say!
It was TNT, people ev'rywhere,
Listen to what I say!
The bomb, the bomb
Is a dream in the night.
Will the USA use it to cause a fight?
