Just a little bit of Friday fun. Adam Sandler - Secret (NSFW)

This post was deleted for the following reason: Secret: this is a shockingly lousy Adam Sandler video from like two years ago. -- cortex

That video's a half an inch longer than it should be.

Friday, November 20, 2005 maybe.

That was neither fun nor funny. But to each their own. It's too Friday for me to get too upset and snarky over this. (Though I can't be the only one who's noticed more than a little bit of homophobia running through Adam Sandler's career?)

There are a lot of immature things running through Adam Sandler's career. That's his shtick. (Not that there's anything right with that.)

I think back of all the truly gifted and genuinely talented comics; the gentle humor of Laurel & Hardy, Jack Benny's miser, Fred Allen's acerbic wit, the innovation of Ernie Kovacs, the everyman of Jackie Gleason, the clowning of Skelton, the timing of Berle, the versatility of Sid Caesar, the social commentary of Lenny Bruce and George Carlin, the zaniness of Steve Martin, the lightning-fast mind of Robin Williams, the deadpan of Steven Wright ... I think of all these (and many, many more) and wonder why this chump gets truckloads of money to produce 3-grade drivel.

I still can't believe that he's the same guy that managed to pull off Punch Drunk Love. The mind boggles.

RavinDave Adam Sandler is famous for the same reason Bush is president: he's not smarter, funnier, better looking or in anyway threatening to the average person. And there is nothing 'to get' about his humour.

He was pretty good in Spanglish.

I mean, Spanglish sucked, but Adam Sandler was pretty good in it.

Nick Swardson's funny when he cameos in Reno 911.

Because his movies make money, RavinDave. Same reason Will Ferrell keeps getting movie deals.

I've liked some of Sandler's films (50 First Dates for example) and Nick Swardson often makes me laugh, but this was just plain awful.

Amen to that!

The way the scissors were prominently displayed, I kept expecting that Shears dude from the Scissor Sisters to put in an appearance.

Not to mention all those other guys RavinDave listed.

I never thought of it as homophobia. I always assumed he was gay.
[Punch Drunk Love is incredible.]

Holy fucking shit, that sucked. Seconding slimepuppy...I'm pretty sure I wouldn't find that funny even after smoking the world's biggest joint while drunk and not having slept for 48 hours.

Love Adam Sandler. Corny, has some kind of weird but funny thing going on with little old ladies in his movies, totally adolescent and good at it.

Adding to the asinine hilarity.

OMG you know what I liked about this video?

Nothing.

"Secret" is from Sandler's 2004 comedy album. Why is this post happening now?

Hmm, I thought it was pretty funny.

50 First Dates was good, Wedding Singer was good. He and Drew Barrymore have a weird chemistry together that makes for a nice popcorn movie.

Good Lord. I couldn't even make it through the whole thing. That was comedy leukemia.
