Prohibition will end sexual abuse, no question.

The Australian govenment has decided that the best way to combat widespread child sexual abuse in aboriginal communities is to ban alcohol in those territories. And pornography. These are the solutions thus far, even though a governmental inquiry cited a range of reasons for the sexual abuse epidemic, including poor health, unemployment, poor education and housing, and a general loss of identity and control. Of course, the Australian government is well-known for this kind of heavy-handed approach to aboriginal issues. (Some claim that even more severe laws have been put into practice). Meanwhile, an aboriginal activist group thinks that this federal intervention is useless and has pledged to monitor the government's actions.
