So then after the last blow to my head with the firecracker they threw at me exploded ... the 2 thousand people ran after us, trying to kill me. They almost got me so they finally reach the trailor, blood all over myself, cant stop bleeding, then all of a sudden, all 2 thousand people surround the trailor and busts the windows!!!
Tila Nguyễn a.k.a. reality television star and singer Tila Tequila was violently assaulted on and off stage at the 2010 Gathering of the Juggalos (warning: photos.)

This post was deleted for the following reason: the difference between loljuggalos and "this is fucking abhorrent" isn't really so much for an FPP. It's really a "look at this assholes" sort of thing which is already turning into an loljuggalos thread. -- jessamyn

Just to clarify: I'm not posting this as "loljuggalos" but simply because violence against stage performance, regardless of their caliber, is absolutely fucking abhorrent.

That is not a great reason to post an FPP.

Juggalos are proud of the anti-racist and anti-sexist (and bewildered-by-magnets) stance, but I can't help but read an anti-woman element to this, especially as it fundamentally shut down the women's performance festival at this gathering, it was mostly a group of men assaulting a very small woman, and a lot of the comments about the event blame her and use gendered insults to discuss her.

I know it's hard to feel any sympathy for Ms. Tequila -- she's one of a slate of celebrities who have yet to demonstrate any talent or accomplishment to support their fame, she seems to be obsessed with celebritydom to an extent that seems almost lunatic, and she's a sketchy public figure in that she seems willing to stretch the truth in service of her ambitions and her desire for limelight. But were I concert promoter and I found out that audiences were flinging feces and broken glass at a performed, I would never allow that show to happen again.

Too bad these paragons of morality aren't anti-violence, too.

The rocks and bottles flew harder and faster when Tequila bared her breasts, he said.

Why did she... why did they... what the why... AUGH BRAIN LEAKING.

"She was taunting them," he said. "She didn't know how to handle them. She didn't understand the dynamic."
On the one hand, this is a hideous sort of victim blaming. OTOH, isn't a big part of the Juggalo shtick being right on the edge of psychotic violence? It's not hard to predict that it might go a little over that edge, and that maybe security isn't going to be able to keep you safe. Is there some implied consent to have beer bottles thrown at you if you play at the Gathering of Juggalos?

This makes me really sad.

The witness, who was standing in the rear of the stage, said the crowd of about 2,000 was immediately angry toward Tequila and she was unable to turn them around.

"She was taunting them," he said. "She didn't know how to handle them. She didn't understand the dynamic."

The rocks and bottles flew harder and faster when Tequila bared her breasts, he said.

"She took her top off and they got really violent," he said.

What the fuck, juggalos. Jesus christ.

Inexcusable. Of course, lie down with the juggalos, pick up fleas.

Both the organizers and Tila Tequila must have known what kind of reaction she would get from a crowd of Juggalos. They might as well have asked the Spice Girls to perform. Hasn't this happened before, where someone who was a bizarre choice for an ICP event was harassed off stage? Is this just a weird PR stunt?

There's really no side of this story I can defend.

I saw a video of Andrew WK playing a previous Juggalo gathering and he was continuing to sing amid a hail of bottles.
