Something's got to keep all those unruly Beanie Babies in line. HP Lovecraft's got nothing on the attack of the Plush Cthulhu.

Hahahahahahaha. I've never had an interest in H.P. Lovecraft. But that is one of the funniest sites I've ever seen. Thank you for spreading the joy.e posted by Slimemonster at 12:26 AM on August 20, 2002
Thank you! Stuck in "will he ever phone me" hell and this is just what I needed (um, is that worrying?) Makes my soft toy recreation of the cover of a certain Pogues album pale into insignificance. My 1st post too! posted by SadieBear at 1:29 AM on August 20, 2002
I'm sure no-one cares but I almost made Cthulhu my username. Don't really know why I didn't. Oh yeah, Lovecraft is the only readable and enjoyable horror/weird/macabre writer. In my opinion of course. But he induces fear without ever showing you the monster.
Why did the spell check recomend overate instead of Lovecraft? posted by Grod at 1:58 AM on August 20, 2002
I don't know why but this line really cracked me up:
"Wow," said Baby Boy Fluffy Bunny.
"Wow indeed," said Professor Blue Smush DinoBaby. posted by Grod at 2:01 AM on August 20, 2002

What no Flash (kidding), this is one of the better sites of this genre. For a similar site see This one.

Cute, but, nothing beats a hit of Monkey in the morning! his (her?) new "sorbet in a sack" recipe rocks. and his "where's monkey" page and "poetry stop" shows just how people can get caught up in his (her) world. Monkey is always adding something new and there is always something to discover that I over looked the first or second time through. My mind is now happy mush. The monkey site is so cool - I'm never going to get any work done now. Thanks for cheering up a miserable day :) posted by SadieBear at 7:42 AM on August 20, 2002
Some of my best RPG times have been playing Call of Cthulhu. I read a lot of dear old H.P. around that time -- my favorite game was at a convention, run by Greg Stafford (founder of Chaosium, publisher of Call of Cthulhu).
He made us all join the Church of Elvis, do a little (celebratory and worshipful) dance, and we all got a certificate, signed by him, redeemable for 20 sanity points.
My ex-wife stole mine. This explains more than I'm willing to talk about here. posted by kalessin at 7:42 AM on August 20, 2002
shagoth - alas, the soft toy Pogues thing went unrecorded - Shane MacGowan Bear became uncontrollable and had to be removed posted by SadieBear at 2:43 AM on August 21, 2002
