Minesweeper - It offends me so ban it!
I am poor. Monopoly is offensive to me. Please ban it.

But Minesweeper is an interactive tale of skill and courage. You, the brave mine sweeper, risk your life discovering (and I assume, deactivating) deadly mines so others will not be met will harm.

Thats what I couldn't understand - How is it offensive when the aim is to clear the area, not plant mines to blow people up?

All they have to do is change every instance of "mine" to "bug". Microsoft Bugsweeper! Change the little icon of a mine to a little icon of a bug. Of course, that wouldn't be respectful of all the programmers out there who put their lives on the line debugging Microsoft software...

I liked the part about how the writer's mother is addicted to it and it's the only thing she knows how to do on her PC. Just makes you wonder how many home computers are out there sucking up electricity, taking up space in dens, costing hundreds of dollars, so little old ladies can play a game.

I have a migraine. "Headache" is offensive to me. Please ban it.

I know, this is just piling on...but that's just about the dumbest instance of sensitivity-mongering I've heard recently.

This sniffs of hoax to me as well; even most leftists aren't so brainwashed as to make statements THIS idiotic. But if it is real, I'd like to see someone plant some mines in the creator's backyard. Then maybe they'll figure out the difference between games and reality.

I think they should just do the right thing and have the little icons that come up over the potential mines be little heads of Princess Diana...

Winflower instead of Winmine? Reminds me of that ridiculous art project/game where the bullets resurrect corpses.

The Register lost all credibility for me with their response to a false story they wrote about MSNBC supposedly altering a news item to be more favorable to Microsoft.

This must be a hoax. No one would want to ban Minesweeper. Minesweeper is the best thing Microsoft has ever produced. EVER.
