Man sentenced for monkeys in pants. Traveler discloses monkeys after bird flies through terminal. Sad, sad, sad.

I heard this story covered on All Things Considered (Real Audio link at the top of the page) right after it happened. I was driving home from work when it was on, and I almost had to pull over off of the beltway because I was laughing so hard. Not that smuggling is funny, mind you, but "I've got monkeys in my pants" is comedy gold.

Maybe he figured he was going to die soon anyway (AIDS) might as well save a few pygmy monkeys. In the end they made it to the Zoo imprisoned for life while he gets a year which might be life as well. Too bad about the birds.
