What's on?

Oldies, AC, Top 40, Country, Talk Radio, What is the best format that you know of?

I enjoy classic rock, but the new addiction I have is a short one. It's Beatles 97.3 in Kansas City and all they play is Beatles music (until they pick a new format).

What is the best format? Is radio becoming too bland? (apologies for the KC-centric links and frames)

Any reason I should visit the links?

What do you mean by "best"? What I like? So this is basically a poll of what music we like? I wouldn't anticipate this being tremendously valuable.

Is radio becoming too bland?
Ah, now there's a question for discussion. I would say yes.

One of my pet peeves is stations with an acceptable breadth of music (variety of artists) but totally inadequate depth. They play the 3-5 biggest hits of any given artist and that's it.

It's just so homogenized. And now I hear that one of the "geniuses" responsible for FM radio has been hired by XM Satellite Radio. What's the point of "near CD quality" sound if it's going to play the same crap as FM?

Oh... and add my obligatory gripe about how the top 10 market where I live (Detroit) doesn't have a classical music station. I will never forgive Greater Media Inc. for killing my beloved WQRS.
