Excellent photographs by Stephanie Sinclair. Some from Iraq, some from Cuba, and some of courthouse weddings (a few are mildly NSFW).

Sinclair took 1st prize contemporary issues singles in this years World Press Photo competition with an image that is extremely hard to look at let alone have been in the same room with the poor soul. The story in it's entirety was published by Marie Claire and is crushing.

More of Sinclair's work can be found on her agency's site. She also runs an awesome FP post worthy photo site called Photo Betty that publishes photo work by women.

She's also one of my best buds and this FP post makes me that much more proud of her.

These were great. Thanks for posting it.

(For anyone interested, the top middle Cuba photo, with the dark-skinned boy, dog, and water bottle, was taken on the Malecón in Havana facing east towards El Morro. The one with the thatched roof house and kids in their underwear looks like Pinar del Río, but could really be anywhere outside the city.)
