Old Palm Pilots, New Life

A new usage for Palm OS PDAs. Cant dish out for a matrix orbital LCD display? You can still have the awesomeness of a small display telling you vital cpu load, ram usage and winamp info via a palm pilot. Emulates a matrix orbital screen and can work with palms thru serial, USB, even bluetooth! (Project no longer maintained, maybe one of ya's can take it over and fix it so it works for my cheap zire!)

But the old-style low power Palm is still a marvel of usability. How else is a guy supposed to remember birthdays and anniversaries?

This is very cool. I needed to find something to use with the various decrepid late-90s vintage Palms in the closet...

Awesome, obviously not a cost-efficient way to employ my Palm Pilot, but then again their practicality never really was substantiated.

Something else to check out, for the audio tinkerers out there: Capers, a "replacement music operating system" for Palm devices. Some of the apps for Capers include Tractor Pull (MIDI controller), Baby Hedgehog (sequencer) and Eggtimer (MIDI-syncable arpeggiator). There are also audio software projects on that page for Game Boy Color

sweet, maybe that'll work on my palm since palmorb doesnt. Palmorb works with a palm zire 31 and 72, unfortunetly i have the cheap zire 21
