Whoops, sorry y'all... I did search...

...and just flagged my own post as a double, oh, the ignominy!

But still, I'm secretly pleased to have chosen the same awesome links that madamjujujive liked. So it's all good.

Well i missed it the first time around, so thanks for the links anyway-- it's really cool.

naomi - great post. You have some links there that were not posted earlier. The tree houses are something else - what ever happened to using lumber leftover from a project to make a rehouse? Just a matter of time before someone builds a tree house for their children and runs electricity to it so they can play video games.

This post rocks. Tiny houses rock. Walden rocks. Thanks naomi.

Please don't delete this double. Already marked it and everything.

...ah, don't you just hate it naomi? I recently did the same thing with grabbingsand - nearly duplicated a multilink post on kudzu. Heh, with 23,000 some odd thousands of us, these things will happen.

I missed the first post, too, and now I have even more links to explore. Thanks! (And don't forget your tiny ride to go along with your tiny abode.)

Once you start looking, double posts are everywhere.

Here in Tokyo, a friend of mine lived (for a short time) in one of these things on the roof of a house. Go up and out and into his box. It was a horrible place to live.

Big ideas for small lots.

It just isn't complete without mention of the apprentice shelters at Taliesin West.

What was horrible about it, zardoz? I've always thought they looked rather fascinating. (But then, I like living in a 1970 camper trailer for weeks at a time, so I'm probably pre-conditioned to this kind of thing.)

After reading about "micro-partments" and such in Dwell, I'm always trying to make dwellings like these work for The Sims, and it's darn difficult because of Sims' tendency to get confused in small spaces. I had one in the first Sims that was almost foolproof but have yet to come up with a working one in Sims 2.

I live in a tiny house. There are no interior doors except to the bathroom. It's awesome, I love it. What's also funny is that it's on kind of a big lot for the area, and all the houses nearby here are 3000+ sq. ft. From a long distance you can pick out my house because it's the smallest.

I hadn't really thought about a "tiny house" movement but now that I have I really like it. Thanks for the links!

I want one!!! Thanks, naomi!

And the great thing is, people who live in tiny houses don't have room to throw stones!

Thanks for being so sweet about my faux-pas. I am not worthy.

I thought my 850sq ft house was small, but I stand corrected.

From a UK perspective these don't seem all that tiny...

Tiny House Company™ built a single story tiny house for Terri Bsullak, measuring 20-feet x 30-feet. The 600-square foot house cost around $35,000 to build.

m-house provides over 1000 sq ft of contemporary space, with 8ft ceiling height.

Now compare that with Bellway (one of the larger UK housebuilders) these new apartments range around 400 to 700 sq ft
