Wow - and I say "wow" only insofar as I live about a mile and half from Fenway so watching the Hood blimp chug around the sky from my back porch always gets my daughter excited. Otherwise, yes, not quite FPP material.
And not to rub things in, but when the Goodyear blimp was in town (for the Yankee/Red Sox series last month) it made the Hood blimp look like one one of those radio-controlled mylar toys you get from The Sharper Image.

The Goodyear blimp "Stars and Stripes" went down June 13, 2005 in Coral Springs, FL, knocking out power to 1,400 homes. Blimps are pretty dangerous anytime they are near the ground, and liable to boundary layer turbulence.
Personally, I don't trust blimp pilots. I never believe that ballast they dump is really just water. Eh, p_t?
