When I lived in New England, I kept trying to tell the people there that they didn't really know what "mountains" and "trees" were. What they had were "hills" and "big bushes". This guy would have helped, I think.

Very nice, though I suspect many are color corrected. I was going to complain that all the text on his portfolio site is rendered as images (less accessible, less search engine friendly), but I guess not many blind people will be visiting his site.

Nice post. Spectacular pictures. Mine never come out quite that nice. Good Job TK.

Having spent some time... outside, I can't say I was knocked over by anything I saw. I'll admit to not being a huge fan of nature photos, but I do on occasion get knocked over, so I don't think I'm being overly critical. Besides the obvious (and arguably cliche) beauty of the subject matter, can someone articulate their particular preference in this case?

I've enjoyed Ed Book's photos for years. I think that he does wonderful work. When I worked in an office, I'd look through his pictures when I was having a particularly long day and they always brightened up my mood.

In all seriousness, he really has an enviable eye. Wow. Thanks for a great post.

Them's some purty pitchers, fer shure... But too much snow and fall foliage and majestic panorama gets flat for me. After 5 or 6 of these my eyes kinda glaze over and I crave a photo of, say, concrete, a train track, a rusty can, or something sorta... ugly. I guess I'm just messed up.

Well, I can look at fall foliage shots all day. There's some great stuff at each of those sites; this shot of curly grass swoops and flows like a Jackson Pollock. I wonder if sometimes folks *allow* themselves to get bored looking at nature pictures after they see a few that aren't immediately thrilling. You just have to reset and look at each one with a fresh eye; it's not hard to do. For me, anyway. Thanks, thirteenkiller, I'd never heard of Ed Book before.
