1st link: Ok Pepsi, that's not really... umm... jazz exactly. Obligatory hipster scatting aside.
2nd link: That's pretty cool. (Although the resulting sounds felt a bit ominous...) It reminds me of a toy Baby Einstein used to make that played music mirroring the movements of your child. If they danced around the toy fast, the music would play exactly to the speed of their motions. If they stood still, the music would stop entirely. It was a fun toy to watch kids spaz out over.

The device is very interesting, I would like one that vocoded every one speaking to me into robot voices.
That commercial is one my wife and I enjoy reviling. We have to restrain ourselves from throwing rotten produce at that commercial, such is our dislike for it.

There I was thinking that Pepsi Jazz was just Pepsi with strong aural hallucinogenics, or Pepsi with psychosis-inducing additions.
Has anything for-real and not just a dumb gimmick (GET OFF MY LAWN, YOU KIDS) ever emerged from the media lab? Or is it all just sound-twisters and that goddam smiling robot face?
