New Evidence Regarding Black Confederate Soldiers

Tombs of the Unknown Soldiers The Myth Of The Myth Of “Black Confederates”

adding more to an earlier discussion I had started earlier with much resistance, here is yet even more evidence of black confederate soldiers fighting willingly for the life of the South.

"It is now pretty well established, that there are at the present moment many colored men in the Confederate army doing duty not only as cooks, servants and laborers, but as real soldiers, having muskets on their shoulders, and bullets in their pockets, ready to shoot down loyal troops, and do all that soldiers may to destroy the Federal Government and build up that of the traitors and rebels.…That the Negroes are numerous in the rebel army, and do for that army its heaviest work, is beyond question."

That’s from an 1862 letter to Abraham Lincoln written by famed ex-slave and abolitionist Frederick Douglass, who, as you may be remotely bright enough to guess, was a black man. Seeing as he was a black ex-slave who was alive during the Civil War, I have a tugging suspicion he’d know more about the topic than either you or me.

The superficially benign sons and daughters of Marx who ham-handedly control public discourse among all English-speaking peoples of the world—the self-hating, typically pale-skinned, and invariably upper-class ectomorphs who blow Noam Chomsky under his desk as they simultaneously give handjobs to Foucault and Derrida while taking it up the ass without lube from Mao’s tiny, angry dick—insist that history is written by the winners and that we should be highly suspicious of anything that winners write.

Best of the web!

But you won’t believe anything I say, because I’m an asshole white-male American who doesn’t feel bad about being an asshole white-male American ...

You know, as a superficially benign son of Marx, I've been trying for years to control public discourse among all English speaking peoples of the world, but to no avail. What a no-talent ass-clown.

The text of the article didn't really compel me to read it, but what's with the picture of Lincoln at the bottom?

Blowing Noam Chomsky under his desk? Taking Mao's tiny, angry dick up the ass? Wow.

Is your username short for "unpopular"? This FPP seems rather angry and strident.

At this point you are scratching your cherry-pit-sized testicles uncomfortably...

Hmmm...a single-link FPP full of such classy invective? Not a good way to build a cogent argument.

This will Wendall.

The editorial nature of this post does little to lend credence to your argument, whatever its merits or lack thereof.

Yeah, weak article and you're posting it just to win points in a year-old shitstorm? No thanks.

It's still editorializing if you're stating your opinion about the readers instead of the subject.

Frederick Douglass was black?!

What a screed. How did you find such a gem?

So shut that cock-receptacle you call a mouth

Someone could write a very interesting article on this but the author seems more interested in making homophobic insults at the reader.

This is one of those screeds that tells us more about the author than about the topic.

And in a way, it's almost FPP-worthy just because it's so fucking ridiculous, but I get the idea that unpoppy posted it without a hint of irony.

I have a tugging suspicion this has more to do Douglass' agenda of pushing Lincoln toward emancipation and allowing blacks to serve in the Federal army. I've yet to see any convincing, primary source evidence of large numbers of blacks serving in the Confederate Army as soldiers.

My IT department is blocking it for "Adult Content". But then it does that for MeFi "tagged with" pages too.

Turns out the last line of the FPP is also from the link, though it's not in quotes. So I suppose not technically editorialized, but needs to be marked as such if it wants to be understood.

This one guy beat his wife. Then he raped her. Then he posted a video of it on 4chan and was arrested by the FBI. The end.

lol.
