I saw this in the Haitian Earthquake thread and thought it deserved to be repeated. Text Haiti to 90999 and you will donate 10$ to American Red Cross International Response Fund.

I'm not so sure this needs to be repeated, as it's clearly on the White House's site and it's getting tweeted a lot.

That said, I guess it's more convenient for some people. I'll send mine by credit card, though, as it's less complicated than getting the phone company involved.

And it also should be noted that the Red Cross is tens of millions of dollars in debt and that it is unclear what percentage of donations will go to paying off their old debt vs immediate relief. I think donations to Partners in Health is a much smarter move for a number of reasons.

Your first two links are the same. There are also a bunch of other organizations who can also receive donations via text. More details on the donations here, and you can donate directly to Red Cross to bypass whatever routing system your phone carrier has set up. (via digg)

Also: NPR has more ways to provide support.
