Penn is skeptical about the efficacy of prayer

Penn brings up troubling prayer concept Penn believes that anyone who prays for the suffering and death of others does not really believe in the power of prayer. I'm disgusted that someone might pray for the suffering and death of another, but sadly not surprised. I am surprised at Penn's naïveté though.

1) How is it that someone who can be so worldly wise misses out a fundamental point of humanity - People do hateful things.
2) Please please tell me that People aren't praying for Christopher Hitchen's death.

This post was deleted for the following reason: this seems more like something suited to your own blog - atheism is a well-trodden topic on MeFi and Penn Gilette using an easy target here is not really a great way to discuss this here. -- jessamyn

I am surprised at this level of editorialization.
