What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

I intend to start posting under the name Zettai now.

"Zettai" is Japanese; it means "absolutely not" or "no way!"

I used to be Wiremommy, taking the name from my previous personal site, which was named after the psychological experiments of Harry Harlow in which infant monkeys were fed by mother-figures made of wire.

Now my main weblog is located at Signal Station, so I decided to shed the Wiremommy name here at Metafilter as well.

Too many people assumed I was a mother based on the Wiremommy name. It bugged me, so I'm changing it.
