Always did enjoy Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride. Paved the way for the “rural humor” of the Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, Petticoat Junction etc.

Sounds like Ma and Pa are getting shafted here.

@Nancy Lebovitz, I don't have time for this rabbit-hole right now, but the notation they use for long division looks like the style attributed to the Netherlands on the Wikipedia article.
