I asked whether the behavior of Brooks and others at News Corp. wasn’t a reflection of the corrupted journalistic values that Elisabeth had taken issue with in her lecture. She collected her thoughts, folded her arms, and said, “Yes is the quick answer. But, at the same time, I’m a champion of the plurality of voices and diversity of audience, and I think that doesn’t mean that in certain cases behaviors cannot match one’s values.” The New Yorker on Elisabeth Murdoch, in the wake of her lecture at MacTaggart, which was openly critical of both her brother James and her father's infamous News Corporation.

Her father and brother are criminal but she is responsible for a great deal of the reality TV in America. I call it a draw.

Hard to say who's falling to whose level there.

It sounds to me like the behavior of Brooks et al. DID match their values. The values themselves are the problem.

Also, I know this makes me incredibly shallow but I can't help it: GLORIOUS HAIR.

That Guardian "take down" was weak, weak sauce. The kind of snide shit I typically try to read the Guardian to avoid. I'm not saying Murdoch is all that, but that piece certainly didn't make a case otherwise.

Yeh, nice hair but, and I'm genuinely curious here, what's with the rectangular thingee on her chest? Is it a stylized bow or tie? Is this a common feature on dresses that I haven't noticed before? I know that I'm falling into the sexist trap of talking about superficial things when a woman is in the news but that dress is odd.

She wasn't complaining when her dad bought her company, Shine, for a quarter billion dollars of Newscorp Shareholder cash. And she's now getting paid $4 million a year to run it.
