Over ten thousand Gnomes live in Gnomesville, the home of Gnomes in Fergusson Valley, Western Australia. Not everyone were happy with the Gnomes, but now the state government is providing funds to ensure the future of Gnomesville.

I predict this thread will be full of gnomic comments, but we will fail to achieve true gnosis.

First thing I noticed in one photo is the spiderweb across two gnomes' hats and since this is Australia I now imagine how many horrors are actually concealed in the hollow shells of those little ceramic doodads with a convenient hole in each base.

My tiny apartment has no front yard, only a parking space where I no longer have a car, so I set a couple lawn chairs and a wicker table there, and on the table, a garden gnome and a plastic pink flamingo. I went out one morning and discovered the gnome had been knocked off the table and lay broken on the pavement. I never should've trusted that flamingo.

Future humans will marvel at the strange rituals that must have been performed at this site.

I’m not familiar with how municipalities are constituted in Australia, but presumably if there enough gnomes, this area could be incorporated as a metropolitan area.

Whereupon they will be...

Metro-gnomes.

I’ll show myself out.

But hey, gimme credit for...

...timing!

Yeah, yeah, I’m going, I’m going.

Also, clicking through to the article I made the horrifying discovery that certain of the gnomes appear to be dwarfs. I hope that some of the funding goes toward rooting out the interlopers.

Gnomeville is an inclusive and welcoming community, especially for dwarfs who identify as gnomes. Let's try to be a bit more respectful, a'ight?

Metro-gnomes.

Over the years, there has been great variance in the gnomenclature used for various subgroups. A consistent taxognomy would be really helpful.

So, is this town's favorite philosopher/political theorist named Gnome Chomsky?
