Seen it, played with it, linked it on my blog ages ago....it's pretty neat, though.
Somebody in my office bought a real Theremin and it's harder to make sound good than you might think.

Never seen it, glad you linked it, glad i downloaded it, and still not sure why folks feel compelled to post a comment explaining to everyone that they've been there and done that "ages ago".

Very neat. Here's a theremin for your Palm Pilot that I've been messing with for months now.

I for one am not sure why folks feel compelled to post asking why people feel compelled to post these sort of comments.
Basically, I'm just confused about everything in a general sort of way, so I thought I would share that information with you many thousands of avid MeFiers.
But, as god is my witness, I WILL learn to play the Star Trek theme song on a virtual theremin, if only so I can tell the children I've decided not to have, or even someone else's children for that matter, that my life was not in vain.
God Bless America and Lothar And The Hand People!
It's a great day to be alive!

Lothar and the Hand People were a theremin band
sad but true
btw, a Theremin is a musical instrument composed of two rods with a beam of electricity between them. You make the tone change by running your hand back and forth through it. hmmm...OK I almost explained that right.

I'd have to say "Batman"
Oh, the guilt! I can't stand it!
i may possibly have cheated, but there was no prize after all.
My gut reaction was The Wicker Man, but then I started having falshbacks to that movie and hurriedly thought of something else.
Mad props to the Equalizer aka Breaker Morant.
man this obscurity thing is a hoot

Well done.

Not quite. Each of the two antennas is essentially half of a capacitor, and your hands are the other half of these two capacitors. Circuitry inside the cabinet uses these capacitances directly in the tone generation circuit. One antenna controls pitch, the other controls volume.

Yes, "King of the Wicker People" is from Batman. But can anyone place "King of the Potato People"?

After all, what's a thread for if not to trade snarky and belittling comments, right Karl?
