This Weekend kicked off the Houston Rodeo

The first weekend of the Rodeo Tis the season for the three week Houston Rodeo. This past Friday was 'Go Texan Day' where tradition is for Houstonians to don traditional Western attire. Saturday was the barbecue cook-off. Also on the grounds surrounding the Reliant Stadium, are the carnival rides. The Reliant Stadium is the locale for events throughout the Rodeo season-- from livestock contests to concerts. Among those who have previously graced the Rodeo stage are Selena, and Elvis Presley. Typically there is an eclectic mix of musical performances from rock to country to rap and rnb. The overall champion for the barbecue cookoff was named last night. There are many more events to come.
