"D'aaahhh!"

The pacing could have been tightened up a bit in places, but that was marvelously inventive.

My apartment was never even that clean until I was married for at least a year.

Boy, its lucky that they had all that stuff laying around their house in just such a position as to result in them each getting a glass of lemonade. Possibly that is too long a process to get lemonade on a regular basis, but their mileage clearly varies. I can totally understand them having to get the lemonade ... what... a quarter mile from their house? That place is a deathtrap filled with balls and chutes precariously placed - and who keeps their toilet paper on the toilet like that?!?! Screw the sitting vs. standing thing - that is a Metafilter WTF if I've ever seen one.

By the way, does anybody know what that marble track with the hexagon tiles is?

My friends and I made a Rube Goldberg machine as part of an application to play in a 30-hour long puzzle hunt back in 2011. It was like 1/30 as complex as the one in this video, and I can say it was a lot of work!

Kaplamino just dropped his latest marble machine video. I'm sure his channel was featured here before.

I was irrationally afraid that the phone would go to voicemail before it had a chance to vibrate off the table.

rhizome, I was wondering the same thing! I think it's a GraviTrax set.

Not pictured: them being evicted after months of noise complaints from the downstairs neighbors.

Wait....so, did the guy in the shower get any lemonade?

This is a brilliant example of Chekov's Gun . Right there at the beginning there's a bright yellow lemon press and, voila! at the end there's lemonade.

Today I discovered that there is a limit to how long I am willing to watch a Rube Goldberg machine do its thing, and that I reached it in the bathroom of this one.

Good find, thanks! I came across that one but got sidetracked by the track bits for the main kit and didn't dive into the site. Here is the expansion set that looks identical.

9 minutes is too long. I was watching at double-speed and it was still a bit long.

I appreciate that we're past the point where anyone building a Rube Goldberg machine at all is impressive and now there's best practices to ensure that the machine works reliably, and there needs to be a little bit of wit to it (the slime cup, for instance)
