On the 11th of May 1965, Darwin Post Office workers opened a brown paper parcel that had started to smell. They were shocked to discover that it contained the dead body of a newborn baby. The parcel had been sent by mail from Melbourne, a 3754 kilometre (2332 mile) postal journey. Police were unable to solve the case, and are now hoping that DNA advancements could offer leads.
