Woohoo! The First Annual Nothings Award...

Woohoo! The First Annual Nothings Award... I've never heard of Lileks before, but the snazzy site [almost] makes me forget how frustrating contentless splash screens are.
Brad... you're right: images are hardly non-content, I guess I just find image-only splash pages frustrating. I want words and navigation.
*throws himself on the floor, screaming*

First time I've seen this lileks site, but the name's familiar, is there a poster by the same name here?
Anyway, it's great, especially the food comments.

James Lileks Rocks. Online and in print. He's great on radio too when you can find him...

I envy anyone who hasn't heard of Lileks yet, because they still have the pleasure of getting to going through his huge and amazing site for the first time.
Every few months it seems, there's a little love-in for James on here, and it's truly deserving, every time.
And I'd say all of that even if he wasn't in here somewheres.
(He said, suddenly self-conscious about fawning so.)

Little known fact: Lileks is also DoublePostGuy. (Think about it. Ever seen 'em together?)

Brad, I never seen anybody together. Maybe we're all Lileks.
Although for James (Me? Us? My/our father? Hm, pronoun trouble) to assume 7000-odd identities just to carry on a conversation with himself seems like a lot of work. Still, I daren't question his genius.
[Sorry. Punchy. Carry on.]

7000 odd identities is, so far, the best description of MetaFilter I've seen in print. ;-)

It's okay, Neale, there are a surprising number of sites that misspell it. I never would have imagined that until I checked with a search of my own.
Google helpfully asked, "Do you mean 'dalek'?" That means someone has entered Dr. Who terms into Google's dictionary. +2 Geek Wisdom for Google.

Neale, how's this for Geek Wisdom: when I first saw your post I swear I read it as "The Tarleks".

Aaaah, that was great, Chico. Except it diverted me into spending a half hour on a Jan Smithers fan site. Bailey rules!

Thanks kchristidis. What is a Tarlek? Why do all the threads I post to go so off-topic so quickly?
