MyPhysicsLab – Physics Simulations could have saved my bacon in high school. I'm hypnotized by colliding blocks.

...and you don't have to be hampered by pesky things like the real world! Give objects negative mass!

Mom, I met the girl I'm gonna marry! Molecule 6!

Seriously, this is completely neato.

I used to save my bacon in high school. In my locker.

I think I got the high score! That one block was pretty tough but I gave him a few body blows and then finished up with the uppercut.

hunh...pretty lights!

All hail Physics. All hail internet. All hail Metafilter. All hail heather.

I needed this tonight.

That's great Heather! This is the kind of stuff that really shows that technology can really help learning. Most people don't have ideal springs laying around the house. For us visual learners, this really helps clear up confusion.

There's more here, made by one of my physics profs.

If you like this, and you haven't already seen it, go visit the Soda Constructor for more fun with masses and springs (requires Java).

Back in high school we had a physics program that I spent hours and hours fiddling with. In fact, when I later bought my first computer (an LC III) it was almost entirely because of the many happy hours I spent sitting in front of that Mac.

I now, of course, use a PC. I can't abide only having the single button.

Check out for even better sims using Shockwave.
