Taking navel-gazing to a whole new level: Remember when a company called Celera decoded the human genome a few years back? Well, now we know whose DNA they used.

I believe it was proven during the O.J. Simpson trial that the idea behind DNA is as ficticious as the 'moon landings' or that AIDS is caused by a virus. I'm looking forward to the day when the scientific community can be honest and admit that they have made this up out of whole cloth.

celera has been fairly open with the fact that the sequence came from employees mostly, and when asked if any came from him he said something like "well, wouldn't you want to sequence your genome?" or something like that. it wasn't a big secret, and it really doesn't matter as long as he's human :)
