Fantastic gallery of some really advanced looking crop circles, including hi-res versions for your desktop wallpapering pleasure.
That is probably the coolest crop circle I've ever seen.

I still think they must be caused by complex whirlwinds of some sort, yeah that's it.

That example seemed to stir the UK media - "the first example of a 3D crop circle" - if that wasn't something of a contradiction. Should we be calling them something else now? Crop formations?
Here's the now oblig link to circlemakers which, it turns out, I haven't looked at for a year or two, having missed the excellent Hello Kitty promo crop circle from 2004.
I'm amazed there are still sites emerging deperate to revere circles as more than they are.
The Milk Hill example from 2001 is still my favourite (scroll down - it's the one with *all* the circles).

I'm pretty sure that these were not caused by mating hedgehogs.

Check out these abstract artworks based on crop circle designs.
There can be interesting geometry and analysis underlying constructions with many tangent circles.

Was recently told a funny story: Ex Apollo astronaut, well into his crop-circles, sides with the more exotic theories. Said astronaut is being interviewed for television programme, mentions one particular circle and claims it to be so advanced that it could not possibly be man made. Interviewer does not have the heart to tell him that he himself was the culprit.
