Well sure, except for the fact that there is no way that train didn't derail when he threw it like that. It probably killed at least a few people and undoubtedly will take millions of dollars to clean up.

This is just, yet another, example of why it is so critically important how you deal with your transition wipes.

ixohoxi: More than likely it's just a lot of matting in after effects, i.e., cut out the car, person, whatever you want in front of the shot, then just drop in the train footage behind it. Then as peedro pointed out, add "realistic" camera jiggle in post. Relatively simple, but time consuming.

From the comments of this video (linked above by someone).

I was curious about the bat out of hell speed I'm seeing here, so I did an analysis of the sound. The horn changes from 943 to 787 Hz, so assuming the temperature is about 80F this implies a speed of 77 mph along an axis from the train to the camera. Adjusting for the angle, it's probably a little more like 78-79 mph.

I fucking love the internet.
