Book Blogs Search Engine: "Looking for reviews of a book by real-life book bloggers? Tired of sifting through corporate sites in your regular Google search results? That’s why I created the Book Blogs custom search engine – all book bloggers, all the time! Whether you’re looking for other non-commercial reviews of a book you’ve just read, or want real readers’ opinions on a new book you’re considering, this is the place." Nice. The usefulness of standard Google search results varies considerably from book to book, but it can't hurt to explicitly exclude retailers and other noise.

I had also never heard of Google Custom Search before, so thanks for that. Bad news for Blekko, though.

I like the concept, but holy shit some of the book blogs are terrible. I data checked a few of my recent reads, and how these bloggers manage to brush their teeth without aid never mind create a critical view of a literary work is amazing. There is some shallow writing about books out there.

I read The Slap, liked and despised it both, I can't articulate why, I was hoping some more intelligent readers would help crystallize my feelings, nope, just warnings from bloggers that there are cuss words. Never take literary advice from anyone that uses the term cuss, nor anyone that writes s**t and f**k on their own website.
