Betty Ford - 1918-2011

Betty Ford - dance teacher, volunteer, mother, first lady, former addict (and drug rehabilitation pioneer), cancer survivor (and awareness advocate), and womens' rights activist - passed away Friday. She was 93.

There is a really interesting post out there that could be made about Betty Ford's death and her fascinating life, but I do not feel like this is it.

She was quite a lady. I hadn't realized that her mastectomy came so soon after she got to the White House.

Apologies for abetting the derail, but three days after a First Lady dies, if you haven't tried to put any story up, then you're not allowed to complain that someone else put up something bare-bones.
