Dennis Rodman charged with speeding his boat through Newport Harbor What was that about stuff returning to normal? Isn't this guy out of money yet? BTW, he gets points for the boat-naming.

heh

He is charged with 20 in a 5 MPH zone. Do any of you boating enthusiasts know if this is a really serious infraction? I heard on the news that he could face a year in the slam. That is, I suppose, a function of his previous record.

He's practically my neighbor, though, and I've heard he takes a lot of crap from the old schoool Newport Beachies.

Going that fast in a boat is a lot more dangerous than a similar speed in an automobile, especially when you're in a crowded harbor. The basic rule when you're in port is that you shouldn't be going fast enough to raise a wake behind you.

That being said, a year in jail would be a ridiculously harsh punishment for a moving violation that didn't involve an accident.

skallas - Kinda like those who are prone to unorthodox buildings demolition that we've heard so much of lately? Rodman's a goon. If he thinks he's above the law, then put his ass away.

I don't think Rodman gets the points for the boat name. If I remember correctly, on The Facts of Life, MacKenzie Astin, who played "Andy" came up with the name of "Sexual Chocolate" when he entered the girls into a contest to sing with El Debarge.

Just remember that when you take the good, you take the bad. (you take them both and there you have the facts of life...the facts of life...)

I always thought "Sexual Chocolate" was the name of the band in "Coming to America"...

Speeding through a harbor besides being dangerous, can cause many $1000 to $100,000 of damage to boats that are tied up. A 40+ foot boat can cause a very large wake and reek havoc in an enclosed water way.

Dennis is old news and continues to be a disgrace to everyone that comes in contact with him. As people pay less attention to him he is going to have to light his hair on fire or heaven forbid, pull an OJ to get the public's attention.

I just want to know if anyone's ever watched Rod Man TV, his pay per view website. Whoo, that Rodman, he's wacky.

I give him points for getting the police to change the city noise ordinance laws just for him.

Barney, sorry, but I posted this yesterday in a catch-all thread about the weird of the world getting back to "normal". Better comments on it here, though. And kaefer, I agree with your origin for "Sexual Chocolate" being Coming to America.
