The is new to me. I am surprised not only that I liked it, but that I liked it so much. Thanks for this.

this is my go-to album for work. I can pretty much put it on at any time and love it. it's timeless.

This is a more civilized music arena than most, where it would normally take about three posts for someone to claim Stereolab stole everything from Neu!, et cetera et cetera et cetera. Love 'em all right down to their kosmische cores. Good music for Sunday.

I discovered Michael Rother's "Katzenmusik" album a couple years ago and it quickly became one of my desert island discs.

well not everything, but they certainly stole the motorik thing that drives Jenny Ondioline among others (and not just the groove, they took the harmonics as well) ... and thank god they did. It was such a breath of fresh air to hear such stuff in the early 90s, and played live, not just sampled. I remember running into a couple of them once at a radio station at the time and asking them point blank why Neu didn't get any mention in any of their songwriting credits. As I recall, they just smiled and politely shrugged me off.

Neu albums are great for driving on the Interstate. "Motorik" is a very apt label.
