Charles Forsman: "After my Raiders/Popeye strip was so well received I decided to try another combination. After a failed attempt at another combination I decided to try mashing up 2 of my all-time favorites: Spielberg and Benchley's Jaws drawn like Schulz's Peanuts. "

This....it's perfect. It's amazing. I'm considering printing it out on newsprint and putting on my fridge next to the Flash/iPad Zits comic to give it the treatment it deserves.

He really nails the style; this is good.

What they said.

Mickey the Man is a hard thing to see, but I don't know what kind of warning you could give that.

I'm pretty sure Lord of the Rings as Smurfs has to come next

I love this. Sikoryak's Inferno Joe and Good Ol' Gregor Brown in the same vein, but I can't find the whole srips on the web..

I'd seen the Indy/Popeye stuff before, but the rest of his work is really good. Looks like a lot of it was student work, I hope he continues putting out stuff.

That was better than I expected, and managed to neatly nail both Peanuts and Jaws.

Normally I don't have any time for these nostalgic makeovers (I'm so sick of anything 8 bit) but for some reason - perhaps my enduring love of Jaws - I clicked on this and I'm so glad I did. The 'going to need a bigger boat' strip is just perfect. Made my day, and after a week of crappy rioting and looting (by others, not me) it was just what I needed. Thanks.

Classic—especially the Chief / Charlie getting slapped by Lucy.

Roy Scheider said that in real life, the actress playing Mrs. Kintner didn't know how to perform a movie slap. So, when filming that scene, she just slapped him, and in his words, "it hurt like hell."

Excellent post. The wolf strip was particularly poignant.

I knew this was going to be great when I saw the very first panel.

I was not disappointed.

How nice to click on a link knowing it's probably not going to depress me. This was great -- love it.

I just ordered a print of this to give my sister for Christmas. Sheer brilliance.

WARNING: ARTISTIC EXPRESSION

Someone's baby being stolen pretty much trumps everything else we give warnings about, scrowdid, even if it is artistic expression.

This is really good and I'm glad I clicked on it. I'm really impressed at his getting the newspaper color look down so well. It wouldn't be as convincing if the colors weren't so right.

I'm a fan of Lovecraft mashups, myself. Like this one, though there are others.

Gotta love Schulz' stock hollerin' pose on SHOW ME THE WAY TO GO HOME. This is classic.

It's really hard to improve on the original, minus a little filler.
