Robert Tiso's youtube channel for even more glassharpy goodness.

But when he's at a party, you can't get a glass for your wine!

He really is a virtuoso. That can't be the easiest piece to play that way.

Yeah, I KNOW that guy's more fun than I am at parties, because the first thing I thought about when I heard that was Arctic Fox on the Amiga. :-)

Whatever, he's no Mr. Peanut.

I'm not sure, but I think that might be Gloria Parker. She did an album of glass harp Christmas carols.

He also has a wine-glass violin!

Nah, I was just kidding. As far as I know it's actually an original recording with no actual glass harp involved.

Fuck no, are we supposed to drink straight from the bottle?

nathancaswell, if you have to ask he is definitely more fun.

One of his snifters is out of tune and it's making me crazy. But the talent and the tone is absolutely amazing.

Too bad you can't reliably play the glasses with your toes, too, you'd really have something.

I want to master this talent just so I can release a CD of music under the name Fill Up Glass!

Nelson: try this.

Also, those who can, do. Those who can't turn on a dehumidifier.

Crystal, what a glasshole?

I'd like to see (hear) that thing extended downward a few octaves, except that I'm afraid it would make my house windows shatter...

He might be good and all, but he's going to have to get in line, same as everyone else, with all the other people who are more fun at parties than me.

I love this, but my cat is somewhat unnerved by it.

Yeah, but can he play Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star? (or Arabesque, for that matter)

At first I thought you were gonna double post that one guy that did the orange peel teeth and lemon eyes. But it turned out to be that guy's son. Small world!

ErWenn: "I love this, but my cat is somewhat unnerved by it."

My cats just got up and left as well. But then again, they get up and leave when I put the Who on at the loud decibels that they meant it to be played. Won't Get Fooled Again!

Some of the music he picks to play work perfectly. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, for example. Some, not so much. Beethoven's Fifth is lacking in the bass department. And yet he somehow manages to make this thing sound good. I'm really tempted to buy his CD.

I love the fact that mefi constantly reminds me I have no talent. Thanks!

He would not be fun at parties. Imagine this guy, running around, hoarding all the glasses and then getting the liquid levels in each glass *exactly* right. "Hey, stop dancing you guys, you're messing up my levels!" or "Quit bumping into me!" or "OK everyone, shut up for a minute! I said, quiet! George here is going to play a classical arrangement on all the glasses in the house. Shh! Come on guys, give him a chance." /cue tomatoes and other fruits thrown as only a drunken person forced to shush can throw them.

It probably wasn't this guy, but someone doing this sort of thing did an "Assembly" at my elementary school. I remember spending the whole next day rubbing the rim of my Redskins collectible glass of iced tea, trying to get anything more than an inconsistent "wwwwwWWWwwoommm...wwoommmmmmmMMMmmww" out of it. I'm sure my mother loved that.

Good stuff!
