So little Plague Programming here in the States. Ah well. Perhaps a real one will come along. I remember reading Laurie Garrett's The Coming Plague a few years ago, '96, I think. Quite bleak, unsettlingly prophetic. Never did get all the way through A Journal of the Plague Year.

Thanks for that. I've found tv reviews - see also Clive James, Nancy Banks Smith and Victor Lewis Smith (latter two not related in any way) - far more enjoyable than the actual programmes.
