This post was deleted for the following reason: Single link blog op-ed. We're at the point in the US election cycle where if you want to make a post about things that are happening within or among one US party or another, it's got to be more of a post than this. Maybe put a larger post together about it? -- jessamyn

Unfortunately, Republicans have absolutely no incentives to encourage economic growth. The only way they can 'win' is for America to lose.

Can I agree with the thesis statement almost entirely while pointing out that this sort of partisan attack wording really won't help anyone actually fix this horrible quagmire?

The game of chicken over the budget last time, and the threats to do it again this year-end, are unequivocally damaging the economony. They are deliberate and unuusual actions by Republicans. Republicans know that incumbent US Presidents only lose when the economy is bad. Mitch McConnell declared that limiting Obama to one term is his top priority.

Draw your own conclusion.
