I knew it. There's not going to be a robot apocalypse, it's all going to be weaponized cosplayers.

A kid owning one of these guarantees him/her the title of coolest kid in town.... at least until someone else gets next year's model.

Not Cosplay.

(but very, very cool nonetheless)

Standing more than 12 feet tall and weighing 9,920 pounds...

Oh, my. How much extra for 100,000-mile warranty and "neighborhood insurance"?

Pretty neat, although I could have used more footage of the big bopper in action instead of all the needless animation and quick cutting.

Guillermo del Toro should arrive at the Pacific Rim premiere in this and ride it down the red carpet.

"Controll System" at 1:30 of the video? Yah, that's about right. =)

Now if they could only make one of those things that's actually good for something besides looking awesome.

Meanwhile, I will spend 5k on a golf cart with plexiglass armor and a prow made of a few 2x4s.

Bet I'll win in a fight against the 1.3 million dollar mecha.

WARNING
"KURATAS" is an art piece. It is not a normal vehicle, so it doesn't guarantee you safety and comfort. However, it makes your dream, of becoming a robot pilot comes true.

HOW TO RIDE KURATAS is the best video.

I love that there's a cupholder option (+ $100).

Not to mention the free Gundam/EVA-001/Mickey Mouse paint jobs.

The controls in the piloting video look interesting. Controlling humanoid mecha is one of those things that we'll have to figure out some day, and this puppeteer system looks interesting.

Yeah, I especially liked the bit when she climbs on the CGI rendered fake robot, and there's a ridiculously phony shadow her knee casts on the rendered surface.

Yeah, I can tell because of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in my time.

A diesel-powered robot that rolls around at six miles an hour. There's a serious lack of cold fusion technology here.

We've come a long way baby.
"cosplay" 1890s style.
