Photographer Senen Llanos likes profiles and costumes, so why not combine them both with The Faces Of New York Comic Con 2012 Part 2. (via)

I love the Zangief who appears to just be a shirtless guy who looks like Zangief.

That's Mike Fass. He played Zangief in CollegeHumor.com's Street Fighter: The Later Years (and was really funny).

These are great -- and my favorite thing about them is that these people put so much time into their costumes that they deserve a photographic reminder that isn't taken with somebody else's cell phone.

I wish all cosplay photographs were like this, or at least, every convention/gathering had the opportunity to be photographed in this manner.

Nice idea, but I have to say those side views and lack of a full body shot are not that appealing from the perspective from another photographer. With the title "the faces of ComicCon" it makes sense, however.

thank you for posting this and framing/tagging it properly. I thought about making my own FPP with it but 1) I know next to nothing about cosplay OR comics and 2) I was sorely short of time this morning and thus could not do it justice. It needed something a bit more pithy than "zomg look pretty pictures!". I actually posted it on MeCha hoping someone like yourself could pick it up and do a better job, and I was not disappointed :)

I'm the Dr. Doom in Part 2, so here are a few from the front if you'd like to see them (though taken on my ipad and not nearly as nice as the one in the link).

I was in costume at NYCC but I didn't get much photo-love, as far as I know. I think my big mistake was not being a busty young woman.

Oh man, I hope Egg Shen isn't there, or there could be big trouble.

"This is what I considered the most complete original cosplay I saw. It's a shame so many details got lost in my style of photography, but I was very impressed by how natural everything seemed."

Yeah, the idea of "fan dancing female Captain America" could be pretty damn awesome. Shame you didn't take a more legible photo and link to it to satisfy the curiosity this caption created.

To be fair, they did include a citation to a website.

Some google later produced this.
