Can't get enough Gangam Style? This will fix that.
I have not watched the Gangam Style video. Yet I do not feel as if I am missing anything. Am I broken inside?

My friend was seeking advice on what to be for Halloween and I suggested the guy from the elevator in Gangnam Style and provided a link to the 10 hour version that scene.

If I answer "yes", am I saying "yes, I can't get enough." ?

Furthermore, I would like to suggest that we pretend this Gangnam thing never happened and we go back to daily posts about Lada Gaga and Steampunk. No, not Lady Gaga doing Steampunk (although, that may be a case of in which two wrongs DO make a right). I'm sorry I was ever critical of either of those topics and promise to stop saying bad things about Cory Whatshisname.

They flip the visuals so it won't get automatically taken down for copyright infringement by YouTube (even though Psy doesn't seem to care, the YouTube detection tool sometimes rejects or deletes videos automatically if it can match up the video to something copyrighted).

Aw, I love "Gangnam Style." I have no problem with it being everywhere for a while. I do have a problem with it only being available in Chrome.

Specifically, you can buy just-vocals or just-instrumentals for most any YG Entertainment song and your purchase will include the right to use those vocals or instrumentals in remixes. That's part of what helps them to spread cross the 'net.

This is fantastic. It's the audio equivalent of eg Andrew Plotkin's "Fun With Markov Chains". I don't quite get what the different colours in the grid represent; I need to spend some time looking at the source to work it out. (Something to do with the similarity to another beat?)
How time-consuming is the underlying analysis? How easy would it be to point this at any mp3(s) to apply the same technique?

The Echo Nest has a web service specifically for such purposes. One of the source JavaScript files is a JSON representing such analysis and so it would probably be almost trivial but not quite to do this to any other song's audio by switching to a different analysis and audio file. Grabbing the individual images used for your song's video will be more time consuming.

I think the colors are codes for similarities. When you hit a square of color X, there's a likelihood it'll jump to another square of color X. It's a bit confusing because it looks like a heat map of some kind, but I don't think it is.
