Slow Motion Flyball

Slow motion video from the 2011 Czech Flyball Championship: Athleticism, speed, caught balls, missed balls, clean passes, misjudged passes, and really astonishing streamers of drool. If you're wondering "What is flyball?", the short documentary What Is Flyball? might address that question.

(If you're wondering why the Czech video was set to the music of HIM, I have nothing that would address that question). The Czech boxes seem to work a little differently than the ones in use in North America. Here's a short full-speed clip of a dog executing a beautiful "swimmer's turn" at the box.

great video. It is great to see the total concentration and sheer joy in the dogs faces, and sometimes the holy crap when they miss the ball.

At 0:42, after the collision, the returning dog (the merle) looks back over his shoulder with a "WATCH IT, JERKFACE" expression.

Okay, during the first song i just figured they'd picked a song totally at random, but then the second came on, and I realized that whoever made this video must possess an almost supernatural ability to choose the least appropriate music for any given situation.

They should really put the ball release trigger further from the actual ball release thingy. Less nose-smashing, more ball-catching. (Like this.)

Indeed. I had a lot of trouble filling out the customs forms earlier this year when I flew to Prague. Stupid Czech boxes.
