LQ is great. Lapham is an amazing literary figure, I know him, as most do from his years editing Harpers.

Bookstores can order single copies of Lapham's Quarterly BTW. They run about 15 bucks a pop and are beautifully printed on heavy stock and well well worth the price.

Here's an enjoyable fast-moving piece on historical figures in flights of drunkeness, oblivion or over-stimulation, or contributing to such..

So is this issue out in print already? I've got a 5hr flight in a few days and this would be great reading material.

Appears to be nothing on America's current love affair with prescription pharmaceuticals. Missed opportunity, that.

The stuff of nightmares.

LQ is so clever thematically, and so beautifully executed. Definitely worth picking up in hard copy form.

hey if anyone's curious, I was doing some christmas shopping yesterday and took a look for this in the bookstore. They did have LQ but it was still the Fall issue. I'm hoping with Winter officially arriving next week this will be in stores and I can pick up a copy for my flight back after NYs.

At least it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be based on this thread - $15 (Canadian).
