Based on my interactions with them in my yard, I decided a few years ago to refer to all corvids as Hoppy-Squawkies, as I felt it best characterized their behavior.
This one will be part of a new sub-set I'll call Rollie-Squawkie-That-Will-Probably-be-Hoppy-Again-Soon. posted by quin at 9:04 AM on February 8 [1 favorite]

On the pale white dust of snowfall just outside my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the glowing of a schoolchild when it's snowing.
And the sunlight o'er him flowing throws his shadow on the drift;

There is this one crow that lives down the block from me and when I walk by it goes into a fit,
screaming and cawing. The other crows do nothing...just this one crow. I have never held any bad feeling for
them, I love them all...I love crows dearly and they are so smart...I think they should hold the
Lucasian chair at Cambridge....but It hates my guts, and I don’t know why. it kind of hurts my feelings.... other people walk down the street and nothing
happens...but as soon is I head for the store he/she goes nuts.
...If you are reading this my dear crow friend, and I know you are certainly capable of doing so, easy does it buddy.
