Partysaurus Rex, a new animated short from Pixar, in which we join the characters from Toy Story for an ecstatic bathtime rave (poster). The short débuted ahead of ("opened for") Finding Nemo 3D in September 2012, and features an original soundtrack by electronic musician BT.

The track "Partysaurus Overflow" is available on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.

The main link doesn't work for me in the UK; I get redirected to disney.co.uk. The URL also appears to contains some sort of session key:

I end up on com.au - Australia is 2000km away FFS (for our US audience 2000km is about half a mile).

Oh oh oh - does it feature the "bubble machine" from Sims?

The km-to-mile exchange rate has never been so unfavorable to the decimalist powers. If this free-fall continues a kilometer soon won't be worth the paper it's printed on.

Slash great video. Less than three Wallace Shawn, party animal.

This came out a while ago, but oh man, it kills me. Also, due to my accident-prone and somewhat goofy nature, my boyfriend now calls me Partysaurus Rex whenever I get dressed up for a night on the town.

I saw this a few months ago. I could've sworn it was freely available on Youtube or similar. I guess it got pulled since Disney's decided to make some money from it.

Still, awesome short. The soundtrack is boss.

There are still a couple unauthorized copies on YouTube; I won't link to them (SEARCH FOR IT) but one I caught a snippet of had the low quality of a theater-cam job, but better than nothing.

That was lovely.

Pixar's shorts often showcase some aspect of CG they're playing around with. At least, they used to - subdivision surfaces, hair simulation, that sort of thing. Maybe it was the bubbles in this one?

American MeFites, I just saw a pristine version here.

This short was really fun, and it inordinately pleases me that Wallace Shawn is the Partysaurus. And, what with me being an EDM fan in general, it's sad to say I only know BT from this, but it's not a bad thing to be familiar with him from!

I liked how the froggy sponge was chatting up the plastic loofah scrub before he got tossed in. And that the Cap'n was faded on the bottom, just like real tub toys tend to get.

My kid lost several tub toys in the great Sewer Line Backup of '12. There was just not enough bleach to make me feel good about putting those back in the tub. Now we put up all his tub toys each time.

I love that this thread has already gotten 8 times as many comments as the Wallace Shawn thread from the other day. I have a lot of respect for Wallace Shawn as a playwright and actor, but I appreciate that he is still willing to do his ridiculous character acting persona from time to time.

I also like that he basically played himself on Sex and the City. It was fantastic.

I would guess it's everything involved with the physics of water. Similar to hair and fire, everything about how water moves makes it difficult to get it right.
